La première sensation aromatique est impressionnante de richesse, mêlant les notes caractéristiques d'une belle botrytisation (agrumes, fruits exotiques confits, notes miellées) à des notes plus délicates, légèrement épicées, subtiles et élégantes.
Bouche
La prise en bouche révèle une grande complexité, mariant volume et rondeur à des notes de fruits confits, de prunelle à l'eau de vie, de liqueur de mirabelle ainsi qu'aux notes plus classiques de l'élevage ... notes vanillées fondues, caramel, toffee, mais aussi épices douces et poivre blanc. Finale expressive, puissante, chaleureuse d'une très belle longueur, ramenant une agréable fraîcheur sur des notes de zestes d'orange confits."

R. Parker (02/2013) 96-98/100 " The 2009 Coutet has a very intense nose of apricot, papaya, honeysuckle and orange cordial that is very well defined. Interestingly I write the same comment as my appraisal out of barrel in that I would prefer just a little more vigor. However that is a minor quibble. The palate is very well- balanced with a rounded, caressing entry. There is certainly tremendous weight in the mouth and abundant botrytis, especially upon the unctuous finish. This has great potential – a fantastic wine from one of the finest Barsac estates."

Wine Spectator (03/2014) 91/100 "Sharp and lightly herbal, this red offers currant flavors that veer toward notes of cranberry, accented by vanilla and sandalwood hints. Taut and linear, this will need time to unwind. Focused and long. Best from 2016 through 2025."
Burghound (06/2013) 89-91/100 "This is just as ripe though with less evident exoticism even though there is a trace of pineapple lurking in the background of the otherwise fresh and cool aromas of pear and wet stone. There is excellent vibrancy to the noticeably mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that offer very good intensity on the racy, long and bone dry finish. Lovely and fashioned in an understated style."

R.Parker 88/100 "The 2013 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru les Vercots has an expressive bouquet with blackcurrant pastille with just a dab of raspberry coulis. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins, a crisp line of acidity and quite a firm, structured finish that imparts just a scintilla of austerity. Afford this a year in bottle if you can, and it should drink well for 4-5 years. "
Burghound 89/100 "The deeply pitched and overtly sauvage inflected nose is comprised primarily by red currant, dark pinot and plenty of earth character. There is good volume and muscle to the relatively big-bodied flavors that possess a supple mid-palate where the finish then tightens up quickly. As is typically the case this is not an elegant wine but I like the frank and direct delivery."

finish. This should drink well over the next 8 to 10 years."
